Louise began studying the oboe with Caroline Marwood when she was ten. In her school years she gained much orchestral experience, at first with the Goldsmiths Youth Orchestra and National Children's Orchestra of Great Britain. She was principal Oboe of the London Schools Symphony Orchestra for 4 years and has played in the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain. She was also recently principal oboe in the combined Guildhall-Academy orchestra.
In terms of solo performance Louise has also had considerable experience. In both of the two years that she was at Junior Guildhall Louise reached the final of the Lutine Competition, once winning second prize. She has performed as a concerto soloist on more than one occasion with the Blackheath String Orchestra. Louise is currently in her third year at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, where she is studying with Helena Gaunt and Gordon Hunt. She also has regular lessons with David Walter. |
