Sali-Wyn Ryan Sali-Wyn Ryan was born and brought up in Swansea before winning a Sixth form scholarship to Chethams School of Music, Manchester.
She studied violin with Professor Pauline Scott at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, London. In 2000 she gained an honours B.Mus degree and the LGSM and ARCM performance diplomas.

Since graduating, Sali-Wyn has embarked on a successful career as a free lance musician in London. She regularly performs, records and tours with the Philharmonia Orchestra, the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, London Chamber Orchestra, London Festival Orchestra, London Musici, Britten Sinfonia, the Orchestra of Welsh National Opera, Brighton Philharmonic, London Gala Orchestra, London Virtuosi, Hot Strings and the Brandenburg Sinfonia. Sali-Wyn has completed seasons at Holland Park Opera, Sadler's Wells and has performed with Opera Interludes in the Harare International arts festival, Zimbabwe and the Holder's Opera Festival, Barbados. As a principal player of Sinfonia Cymru, Sali-Wyn has performed throughout the UK.

Sali-Wyn is first violinist and founder member of Celticana String Quartet. Celticana has performed to high acclaim in numerous festivals throughout Europe and in 2004 the Quartet took the stage in the BBC Proms in the Park. In 2005 Celticana was invited by Lady Walton to give a series of recitals at La Mortella
on the Italian Island of Ischia. The Quartet was recently featured on an album with Bryn Terfel, 'Benedictus'. The album reached number three in the Classic FM Chart! Celticana was previously featured on BBC Songs of Praise with Bryn Terfel and at his Faenol Festival for two successive years.


In addition, Sali-Wyn has notable experience outside the classical music world. She has worked and performed with rock guitarist Jeff Beck, as well as Lambchop, Steve Balsamo and Morello. She is violinist and vocalist in the group Paris Motel, with whom she has appeared at several leading venues in London, including The Spitz, Borderline and the Metro Club. Musical Theatre experience includes work with the
English Theatre Company in Zurich and various productions in the UK including 'Into The Woods', 'Cabaret', 'Oaklahoma' and 'Carousel'.

Prior to her studies at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, Sali-Wyn was a member of the National Youth Orchestra and Chamber Orchestra of Great Britain with whom she played in many of the major concert halls in the UK and in three BBC promenade concerts. She was three times Leader of the National Youth Orchestra of Wales and also led the Interregional Youth Orchestra of Europe. Prizes include runner-up awards in the Texaco Young Musician and the Young Instrumentalist of Wales competitions, first prize in the Oxford International Festival for Chamber Music and the D Ffrancon Thomas Scholarship.

Sali-Wyn has travelled extensively as a musician throughout Europe, the U.S.A, Scandinavia, Russia, South East Asia, the Far East and North Africa. In the year 2000 she participated in the late Pope?s 80th birthday celebrations, performing with the Philharmonia in the Vatican. Sali-Wyn has worked for Cruise companies Cunard, Fred Olsen and Swan Hellenic.


Sali-Wyn works part time as a music producer for Classic FM, working alongside presenters such as Simon Bates, Lisa Duncombe and Mark Fforest. She has been nominated twice for a Sony Award as producer of 'Drivetime' in the 'best daily music show' category and for
'Late Night Lisa in the 'best weekly show' category
