Dave Seckleman PDF Print E-mail

Dave SecklemanI was born in 1983, and began having classical (nylon-string) guitar lessons in 1991. Before I finished my A-levels I completed grade 8 level examinations in guitar, and grade 7 level examinations in musical theory. In 2001, I moved to London to read music at City University, where I graduated in November 2004.

I enjoy playing a wide range of styles, and am also quite proficient at bass and electric guitars. In addition to composing music for the classical guitar, I am the songwriter, singer and guitarist in rock band ?Boog?.

I have been teaching on a one-to-one basis since 2001. I am a great believer in music as expression, and as therapy. In my experience, learning an instrument builds confidence, allows a creative outlet, and can soothe someone under stress.

I teach practical guitar playing, backed with relevant musical theory ? I like my pupils to know why they?re doing what they?re doing. Whilst my speciality is classical guitar (one of the world?s most beautiful instruments), I do try to tailor my lessons to the individual?s goals and style preferences.
