As a cellist he is focussed on the past and on the future. Looking back with period instruments he has recorded for Deutsche Gramophon, BBC Radio 3 and ClassicFM, whilst peering forward with computers he is a member of the Hyperbow electroaccoustic collaboration between the Royal Academy of Music and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

In addition to his work for City Music Services, Christopher also teaches for the Royal College of Music and has held positions at the Centre for Young Musicians and the University of Cambridge, during which time he produced and directed new music for dance, theatre and the concert hall.
