Orlando Schenk was born in London and brought up in Devon,and subsequently read History and Music at Durham University before training in classical singing at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. His career in Opera has taken him across the globe including the United States, Japan, Dubai, Bermuda, Sweden, France, Italy, Switzerland and of course the United Kingdom. He has worked during the course of his career with such people as Peter Brook and Claudio Abbado, Daniel Harding, Mark Elder and numerous others,and at such venues as the Aix-en-Provence Festival, Theatre du Lyon, Wexford Festival Opera, Scottish Opera, Bunkamura Theatre Tokyo and Opera Delaware. He has also has extensive theatrical experience having trained in Physical Theatre, a form of training centred around physical characterization, vocal clarity, physical expression and movement techniques designed to open and liberate the performer. With the Physical Theatre Company he has performed numerous works by playwrights such as Shakespeare, Brecht, Beckett, Anouilh, John Ford and many others. Orlando also specializes in speech writing and presentation,and has worked with employees of several leading city companies on communication skills and public speaking. In his spare time he takes a keen interest in Iyengar Yoga and Golf.
