Janet HaneyJanet Haney was born in Dudley in the West Midlands. She trained at the Birmingham School of Music and then continued with postgraduate studies at The Guildhall School of Music and Drama. Since graduating Janet has been working as a freelance repetiteur, recital accompanist, conductor and is in particular demand as a vocal coach. On the concert platform Janet has performed at most of the UK's Festivals, St David's Hall Cardiff, Symphony Hall Birmingham, The Wigmore Hall and Purcell Room. Abroad she has given recitals in Russia, New York and Reykjavik.

In Opera, she has worked for the Royal Opera House, Harvey Goldsmith Productions, European Chamber Opera, Wexford Opera, Travelling Opera, ETO, Opera Project and Opera Holland Park. Overseas, Janet has worked for Islenska Opera in Reykjavik, Iceland on La Boheme, Turn of the Screw and The Rake's Progress. In 2001, Janet toured to Japan and the Phillipines with Pavilion Opera .In 2006 Janet worked in South Africa; firstly on a new Opera called Princess Magogo which tells the culture and history of the Zulu people and then on a production of Capuleti e Montecchi at the State Theatre in Pretoria.

So far in 2008, Janet has already been on opposite sides of the world giving a concert in New Zealand with the Opera Babes and then coaching in Iceland on a production of The Marriage of Figaro.

Janet is also Music Director of two chamber choirs. Jubilate, which performs sacred and secular music from Baroque to Contemporary in style and Gwalia Cor Mebion a traditional Male Voice choir.
