Karl Penney PDF Print E-mail

karl_penneyKarl comes from a musical family in the west coast of Ireland. From an early age he began playing local venues with both friends and professional musicians that his father knew.

At the age of 19 he moved over to Liverpool to study at the Liverpool Institute of performing arts, he graduated there in 2004 with a BA(hons)Degree in music.
During his time there he managed to tour the UK and Europe with various bands including a tour supporting Peter Gabriel on his Still growing up European tour.

Since then he has continued to tour the UK, Europe and Japan, playing some of the worlds most famous venues like Wembly arena, the Royal Albert hall and Glastonbury festival with various acts including Colin Vearncombe aka Black ( it?s a wonderful life), Candie Payne, Vagabond, Maurice Seezer (Bono, 50 cent, Gavin Friday), John Power (Cast, the La's), The stands and many more....

He has had over six years of teaching experience mainly on a one-to-one basis but also teaching group workshops in schools and colleges. ?I believe each lesson should be both enjoyable and rewarding. Whether you?re a complete beginner wanting to release some stress and have some fun or can already play and want to develop your skills, each lesson is completely tailored to the individual needs of the student, with a large focus on playing/learning by ear and improvising.?
