 Miles became a full time student at the Guildhall School of Music in 1988, where he won the Brass Prize, the Chairman?s Award and also won the Shell-LSO Music Scholarship Competition. While at Guildhall Miles spent three years playing with the European Community Youth Orchestra where he toured all over Europe.In his Post-Graduate year at the Guildhall Miles was offered the Co-Principal Trumpet position with the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra where he worked for over ten years before leaving to free-lance in London. Miles now plays with most of the London orchestras including the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, London Symphony Orchestra, London Philharmonic Orchestra and BBC Symphony & Concert Orchestras. He also regularly works with the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra and Brass Ensemble. Recently Miles played on the soundtrack of the film ?Lord of the Rings-The Two Towers?. Miles lives in New Malden with his wife Kay who is a violinist with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.
