Clients come to CMS with a variety of problems. Here is a selection of the most typical:- I am a recently qualified MBA executive working in the fast moving and high profile corporate banking sector. My first language is French. I am finding it difficult to be as fluent and persuasive in conference situations, as my spoken English [learned in the USA] is stilted, and I have problems with the pronunciation of some English words. I am seeking a personal trainer who can help me with all of this. I have a promising young graduate trainee with a charming regional accent. Unfortunately, he regularly talks too fast, and has a tendency to mumble. Feedback from clients indicates that he has an excellent grasp of the job and I am .keen to promote him - but his communication skills need improvement before I can consider him for more managerial responsibilities. As a woman striving to break through the 'glass ceiling' I am aware that my voice often sounds too high pitched and squeaky - I want to present a more assertive image In a recent appraisal the feedback from my boss indicated that I need to improve my communications, especially in video conferencing situations. I have a problem coping with the aggressive questioning from journalists when I give a press conference.
